Very few people ever found out about the incident in a remote town in Siberia, but for those who did, it changed the way they thought about the galaxy and the balance of power forever.

The Americans added a second transport ship, bringing their fleet to 2 small transports, one with a blown engine but enough firepower to wreck city blocks and the other fully operational but with no heavy guns. The lack of commonality between the two craft showed that the Vesuvian races each build their own ships, perhaps suggesting that the Vesuvian empire is not to be thought of as a diverse nation but a coalition of independent nations like the newly formed United Nations. Finally, the US had proof that the Soviets had extraterrestrial contacts or somehow got a man of their own into space who could bring them alien tech. The budget of the CIA and the burgeoning rocketry and space programs were increased 30 and 50%, respectively.

The Russians learned that the American spy program under their new Central Intelligence Agency was capable of penetrating deep into the heart of Russia itself and undermining a highly secretive operation. They also had proof of what they already suspected, that the US was in possession of spacecraft and blasters. The funding of the KGB would be doubled in the months that followed and their mandate expanded greatly. Stalin was now sure that the war he and the other great statesmen had worked so hard to avoid was now inevitable, and he intended that his Soviet motherland be on the winning side.

As for the operatives, funerals were held for agents Waclaw and Dietrich, although their grieving families were never told how they met their ends. As for Pyotr and Celia, it all depends. If Pyotr and / or Captain Henry report accurately to their superiors, Celia could face court martial for her trigger happy stunt that cost her nation vital intel. If not, a medal is probably in her immediate future. For Pyotr and Capt Henry, a medal is definitely in the near future.
