01:33 (2921) gerardpaloma: Last issue, our villains had hatched an evil ploy to rob the bank, and were on their way there.
01:33 (2921) gerardpaloma: (Sheets have been uploaded, as well, if you want the latest versions)
01:34 (2921) gerardpaloma: **Start Issue 2**
01:34 (2916) Mentacles: (current movement speed, 90)
01:34 ** (2967) Black Star frowned as he as well as the others he could see raced along the sky of Serenity Springs. He understood the need for what they were about to do, it was serving notice. Still, no overall plan had been agreed upon. This was a haphazard entry into the world of super teams. If they could even be called a team in the first place. Still, the bank could not stop them. That was not in question. His eyes slid towards Talon, the distance between them had remained identical since they had begun this little trip. He hoped that was a sign that he was going all out as well. The streets flew past beneath him until he recognized an upcoming intersection. His head turned to glance towards Talon for a moment before he called out. They were moving pretty fast and they had no direct means of communication yet. "I will meet up with you in the Bank! I have something to throw into the pot!" A millisecond later before Talon could say yes or no he was leaving the group and flying down a side street. The world below seemed unaware of his presence, it was amazing how many people never bothered to look up. **
01:36 (2983) Talon: (Okay, why did two people add the SP and XP to "starting" instead of "Earned"? That just throws everything off and makes the GM's life harder)
01:37 (2967) Black Star: (<--- newb)>
01:37 (2967) Black Star: (my booboo)
01:37 ** (2916) Mentacles suddenly picked up speed, not that he could be seen or heard, and not that he didnt simply pass through any objects that got in his way, cars, people.. telephone poles. But he knew exactly where he was headed. **
01:37 (2983) Talon: Talon waits for F2K to catch up before following Black Star.
01:37 (2921) gerardpaloma: (plus, if you're trading XP for SP, you should note that like on Mentacles sheet)
01:37 (2967) Black Star: (fixed it on my copy)
01:37 (2875) Lareth: (Sorry. Fixed it.)
01:38 (2921) gerardpaloma: (also on that note, I thought I said the XP to SP transfer rate was 1 to 1?)
01:38 ** (2962) Red Fox stops frantically hopping a few blocks from the bank. She took only a moment to catch her breath. She makes herself invisible and makes her way to the rally point, if there was one. **
01:38 (2916) Mentacles: (is it bad that I visualize my character looking like a gnome?)
01:39 (2916) Mentacles: (Oh.. well if it is...I have some happy fun editing to do)
01:40 (2916) Mentacles: (odd... probably a typo to be honest)
01:40 (2983) Talon: F2K catches up and they both arrive, probably last.
01:40 (2921) gerardpaloma: (Hmm, how fast can Red Fox hop? it's one phase recovery, 100 m at a time, so would it just be 100m?)
01:41 (2983) Talon: (That's the one. 1 jump per phase, but only a total of 100 meters worth of jumping per round)
01:41 (2962) Red Fox: (( as far as travel goes, it's 100m per second. the per phase recovery is offensive/defensive use ))
01:41 (2921) gerardpaloma: (ok)
01:41 (2921) gerardpaloma: (Lareth is fastest, then Red Fox, then Mentacles, and Talon and Blackstar tied for last)
01:41 (2921) gerardpaloma: (err, actually, FoM2k is last)
01:42 (2916) Mentacles: (there is a reason I am just...almost always incorporeal...dont want to worry about it)
01:42 (2983) Talon: (Talon's only moving at 56, so that F2K can keep up)
01:42 (2921) gerardpaloma: (ok then, so Blackstar would arrive before Talon if he were going straight to the bank)
01:42 (2875) Lareth: Lareth, tiring of mantaining the same, slow pace as her companions, became invisible, and sped toward the bank as quickly as she could without casusing a sonic boom.
01:42 ** (2967) Black Star did not bother to look behind him as he plowed towards his final destination. He still remembered long days and nights where he had studied various maps pertaining to Serenity Springs in an ultimately futile attempt to find ways to anticipate villains moves. He had used High Power's help then. Ghost had always been somewhat distance and Gilgamesh was too stupid to tie his own shoe laces. One of the easiest ways that he and high power had found that villains could disrupt the scene around an intended target was through the civilian electrical grid. SENTINEL had tried for years to convince the city that implementing safe guards would be worth the pain of installing such a system. Their suggestions had fallen on deaf ears and now, he was going to exploit that weakness. He took another turn and grinned, there was one of the transformers he was seeking. His eyes blazed, twin beams slashing into the transformers and gutting them. Immediately four blocks of the city plunged into darkness. One of those blocks being the one that housed the bank to begin with. Their movements were no longer secret, but any supers and police that came would have to contend with a myriad of emergencies now. He climbed into the air and headed to the bank. The bank's outer layer of security was tied to the electrical grid. The bank possessed secondary power of course...but that could also be dealt with soon enough. **
01:42 (2983) Talon: (That would be 329 m/s to not cause the boom)
01:43 (2921) gerardpaloma: (that's also the order of the arrival at the bank, so you can either wait til you're all there, or whatever you want)
01:44 (2983) Talon: (So we go down the line like initiative then, I guess?)
01:44 ** (2962) Red Fox doesn't see anyone when she arrives, That doesn't mean no one else is here. She occupies her time by looking in through a window (if one is available), noting the number of customers, tellers and guards. **
01:44 (2921) gerardpaloma: (right o)
01:45 (2921) gerardpaloma: (when Talon gets there, that's when the lights would go out)
01:45 ** (2875) Lareth arries quickly, and spends her time spotting the gaurds, if there are any of them, to target when the others come. **
01:45 (2916) Mentacles: Mentacles arrived a few moments later
01:45 (2983) Talon: (Seen the lights go out on Broadway...)
01:45 (2967) Black Star: (:P)
01:46 (2916) Mentacles: "Hello" hesais into Red Foz's ear without making a wound, or being seen or felt otherwise
01:46 (2916) Mentacles: said
01:46 (2916) Mentacles: fox
01:46 (2916) Mentacles: (fucking clumsy fingers)
01:46 (2921) gerardpaloma: Red Fox sees [1d10+5] -> [10,5] = (15) customers, [1d5+2] -> [2,2] = (4) tellers, and [1d3] -> [3] = (3) guards.
01:46 (2983) Talon: Talon and F2K land. Nice, he thought about Black Star's move, but said nothing.
01:47 (2983) Talon: Talon puts his jetsetter on "loiter" mode, where it flies around, ready to be called.
01:48 (2916) Mentacles: "Well, I think I can take the guards out, no muss no fuss"
01:48 ** (2962) Red Fox jumps first at Mentacles', a look of concern crosses her face (if you could see her, that is). Then the bank goes dark. For the moment, she remains silent. **
01:49 (2983) Talon: Talon simply strides up to the front entrance and goes in.
01:49 (2962) Red Fox: Well, *I* could have done that.
01:49 (2916) Mentacles: mentacles, looks at one of the guards. Who suddenly feels very very depressed and shoots himself
01:49 (2875) Lareth: The old feeling of mental fingers, sticking into her brain, messing with her thoughts, shakes Lareth for a moment, but she ignores it the best she can.
01:50 ** (2962) Red Fox blinks herself into the bank through the window. She silently winds her way through the small crowd, working her way to the vault itself. **
01:50 (2921) gerardpaloma: The guard's brains splatter the wall. [1d10+5] -> [1,5] = (6) civilians start panicking.
01:50 (2916) Mentacles: (Kids, if we are announcing ourselves, causing a panic is exactly what we want)
01:50 (2983) Talon: Talon strolls toward the bank managers office, casually stabbing, tripping, or pushing any civvies that get too close.
01:51 (2921) gerardpaloma: The other two guards draw their guns on Talon and start firing.
01:51 ** (2967) Black Star continued on his approach to the bank, landing on the roof with the grace of a ballerina and immediately made his way towards the door he knew was there. It was double reinforced and locked. He allowed himself a momentary smile before he forcibly unlocked it. The sound resonated through the stair well milliseconds before he was moving within. He did not walk, that was beneath him. Instead he hovered a mere inch or so from the ground and floated within the bank's infrastructure. He knew what he wanted. He knew how to get it. **
01:51 (2875) Lareth: Now that the cover is gone. Lareth attacks all the gaurds she can see.(110 damage to 8 gaurds, autohit, ignores armor, lightpseed.)
01:51 (2982) Foe-Matic 2000: F2K rolls behind Talon, taking in the scene with its usual "kid in a candy store" expression.
01:52 (2916) Mentacles: (there are only three guards)
01:52 (2921) gerardpaloma: (8 guards? There's only 2 left. But they get owned anyway)
01:52 ** (2962) Red Fox jumps the counter and enjoys unfettered mobility now that the tellers have run out, screaming. **
01:52 (2916) Mentacles: (oh, misread)
01:53 (2967) Black Star: (110 damage? in the sheet its listed as 10 damage.)
01:53 (2916) Mentacles: Mentacles looks at the other guard, and makes him think that the second living guard is a giant hentai tentacle monster
01:53 (2983) Talon: Talon, expressionless behind his mask, turns to look at Lareth over his shoulder as she simultaneously wastes the two guards, before nonchalantly continuing toward his destination.
01:53 (2875) Lareth: (Oops. 8 is the number of targets the power allows, so...)(11 actions times 10 damage=110.)
01:53 (2916) Mentacles: (damn it)
01:54 (2967) Black Star: (cool)
01:54 (2916) Mentacles: (grrr... ruining my tentacle fun)
01:54 (2983) Talon: (Not quite. 11 hits for 10 damage each and 110 damage are not the same)
01:54 (2916) Mentacles: (indeed)
01:54 (2916) Mentacles: (if their physique is like...10)
01:54 (2983) Talon: (Normal humans wouldn't survive either, but it makes a big difference against other supers)
01:54 (2916) Mentacles: (indeed)
01:55 (2921) gerardpaloma: (so Lareth and Mentacles are still outside, or have they moved in?)
01:55 (2916) Mentacles: mentacles walks through the wall
01:55 (2916) Mentacles: "They have a termite problem"
01:56 ** (2875) Lareth moves inside, attacking the people she can see, disintergrating them to dust, one by one. **
01:56 (2921) gerardpaloma: By now, Talon has reached the bank manager's office, and Red Fox has reached the vault.
01:56 (2983) Talon: Talon kicks the manager's door down and walks into his office.
01:56 (2983) Talon: "Hello, I'd like to inform you that we'll be robbing your bank."
01:57 (2921) Bank Manager: "Whatever you want, just don't kill me!"
01:57 (2916) Mentacles: mentacles, begins fomenting panic by forcing one of the tellers to think she is being attacked by rabid weasels in her pants
01:57 ** (2962) Red Fox ponders the vault. (security: [1d10+13] -> [1,13] = (14) what type of vault/security protections?) **
01:57 (2962) Red Fox: fudge
01:57 (2962) Red Fox: [14-1d10] -> [14,-3] = (11)
01:57 ** (2967) Black Star floated down the stairs, the sounds of carnage coming from somewhere within the bank resonating eerily through narrow corridors and hallways. He was completely unconcerned, his head turning as a guard appeared to his right as he made his way towards the lower floors. His body did not move, his eyes simply focused on the guard and an invisble wall of force slammed into him and all but through him through a wall and into a room behind that wall. The guard did not stir...He pressed downwards. The vault was a prize of course, but he was not here after money. He was after the safe deposit boxes that were stored on a secondary location. He pressed on, the sounds of sobbing and screaming having no impact within him. It was like rain hitting a teflon coated jacket. It slid off... **
01:57 (2921) gerardpaloma: Red Fox is unable to determine what kind of security the vault has.
01:58 (2962) Red Fox: Well, here goes nothing.
01:58 (2983) Talon: "Well, that's the rub, isn't it? I mean, if I leave you alive it just runs the whole super villain community through the mud. You see," looks at the mans desk, "Dave, I'm a community kind of guy."
01:59 (2921) Dave: "I won't tell noone, honest! I got a family!"
01:59 ** (2962) Red Fox concentrates on the vault door. She imagines it off of its hinges and moved to the side. Fate might have other ideas, though. [1d10+13] -> [9,13] = (22) **
01:59 (2916) Mentacles: Another Bank Teller starts to think that she is being swarmed by little biting pink Christina Agulara monsters
01:59 (2962) Red Fox: (( not anymore you don't ))
01:59 (2967) Black Star: (lol)
02:00 (2875) Lareth: Lareth slowly makes her way down to the vault, amused at the screaming of the people, taking enjoyment in their suffering, as they had made her suffer, without mercy.
02:00 (2921) gerardpaloma: Does the door have some sort of anti-super protection? 1=Yes, 2=No [1d2] -> [1] = (1)
02:00 (2916) Mentacles: (Oh dont worry, I am going light on them)
02:00 (2967) Black Star: (utoh! spaghettios!)
02:00 (2921) gerardpaloma: The door doesn't budge.
02:01 (2983) Talon: "Shh," Talon puts his fingers to his lips. "Now get ready. This will hurt a lot, but it will be over quick." Before the man has time to say anything else, Talon impales him through the gut and lifts him up several feet off the ground, looking into his eyes as he dies. He then discards the body and heads toward the vault.
02:01 ** (2921) Dave dies **
02:02 (2916) Mentacles: (poor Dave)
02:02 (2921) gerardpaloma: (we hardly knew ye)
02:02 (2916) Mentacles: (So, who wants me to do even worse things to the minds of bank Tellers?)
02:02 ** (2962) Red Fox stares petulantly at the unmoving door. If she thought it would do any good, she'd kick it. **
02:03 (2982) Foe-Matic 2000: F2K follows silently, taking no notice of the murder.
02:03 (2921) gerardpaloma: (you can do whatever you want. You could have them fight each other for your enjoyment)
02:03 (2916) Mentacles: (we already have one screaming "get the weasles! The weasles are in my pants!!!" and another screaming :getoff me christina Agulara!")
02:04 (2875) Lareth: She comes just in time to see Talon kill, and smiles slightly. He was being too nice to them though, just killing them. She turned around to the group huddled in a corner, and paralyzed them, permanently, leaving them helpless for the rest of thier lives.
02:04 (2962) Red Fox: (( personally, not your best work 8D ))
02:04 (2916) Mentacles: (No, but I want to save the really fucked up shit for SENTINEL)
02:04 (2916) Mentacles: (specifically, my old character SS)
02:04 (2916) Mentacles: (ah... memories of his days as an alter boy)
02:05 (2983) Talon: (Oh noes)
02:05 (2916) Mentacles: (hehe)
02:06 (2983) Talon: ("Now that you've accepted Christ into your soul, you've got to accept him into your body")
02:06 (2916) Mentacles: Another Teller goes through the Chest Bursting Scene from Alien, wriithing on the flood in agony arching his back and screaming horribly
02:06 ** (2967) Black Star reached his desired destination. He hesitated for only a moment before he continued to hover towards his target, leaving the stair well behind him and penetrating into the floor itself. He was under the floor where the primary vault was located. While the primary vault itself held most of the actual hard currency and jewels in this facility, it was not wealth he sought. He did not have to contend directly with a multi-ton state of the art vault and whatever security the bank had decided to sprinkle on top. The safe deposit boxes were far more exposed than that. Which suited him just fine. He reached a locked door in front of him, used his telekinesis to turn the gnob and open it. He was half way through the door when he heard a curious sound coming from his right. Shotgun, 10 gauge. His head turned to look in that direction when a stern looking guard aligned the barrel of the weapon with his skull and fired. The sound was defeaning and his eyes reflexively closed a fraction of a second before his force screen flared. When his eyes opened the guard stared at him in shock. The various pellets had apparently hit something and then fell to the ground right before his eyes. His head tilted slightly to the side, his right arm brought to bear on the guard. For a moment, he was puzzled. A millisecond later. He fired... **
02:06 (2967) Black Star: [1d10+18] -> [3,18] = (21)
02:07 (2983) Talon: (Is Red Fox visible or unseen?)
02:07 (2962) Red Fox: (( unseen ))
02:08 (2983) Talon: Not seeing Red Fox as he and his robot companion arrive at the vault, he looks it over and stands to the left side of the hall, charging up his PPC.
02:08 (2921) gerardpaloma: (so Blackstar is attacking the guard?)
02:08 (2967) Black Star: (pretty much. :P)
02:09 (2921) gerardpaloma: (k)
02:09 (2921) gerardpaloma: Guard's dodge: [1d10 +1d10+5] -> [10,9,5] = (24)
02:09 (2916) Mentacles: (damn)
02:09 ** (2962) Red Fox , stuck in her staring contest with teh vault didn't hear Talon approach. The spark and whine of his PPC couldn't be missed. "Shit," she got out before blinking away. **
02:09 (2921) gerardpaloma: The guard dodges the blast, but just barely.
02:10 (2983) Talon: Talon fires the PPC at an angle so that if it somehow reflects, it would go into the other wall and not straight back into him.
02:10 (2962) Red Fox: (( thanks for not turning the corner and blowing it away. 8D ))
02:10 ** (2875) Lareth pauses in her tormenting of the civilians to watch Talon's blast, wondering if it would destroy the vault. **
02:11 (2983) Talon: (320 damage, in case you forgot)
02:11 (2921) gerardpaloma: Talon's PPC blasts into the vault door, and there is a flicker of some sort of force shield, but it fizzles out immediately.
02:12 (2921) gerardpaloma: The blast continues into the door, blasting a large hole in it.
02:12 (2916) Mentacles: Mentacles begins making panicing customers fight eachother like Rockem Sockem Robots
02:12 (2921) gerardpaloma: (oh good)
02:12 (2983) Talon: (How large? Large enough to walk through?)
02:12 (2921) gerardpaloma: (if you ducked, sure)
02:13 (2983) Talon: Talon squeezes through the hole. F2K can't squeeze through things he can't normally fit through, so he waits outside.
02:13 (2921) gerardpaloma: (I'm surprised he didn't go, "ER-ROR!")
02:14 ** (2962) Red Fox peeks around the corner after the explosion dies. She sees the hole in the door. Thinking about the cash inside she starts to smile, but it's tempered by the method used to get to it. **
02:14 (2982) Foe-Matic 2000: "ERROR!" says F2K in protest.
02:14 ** (2967) Black Star smiled as he felt the power that seethed in the core of his being gather. It was a sensation that he would never get used to. His power flared, racing into his arm and gathering in his hand. A moment later, it left his arm at considerable speed and widened. A two meter radious circular beam of pure ebon that had the power within it to disembowlel a main battle tank. If he had not been alone he would not have used it. His power had changed, and he did not wish to reveal it needlessly. Most normals would have pissed themselves and died quickly. This one did not. He moved with practiced ease and intent. His blast missed. It was a close thing but it was still a miss. The end result being the wall behind the guards as well as 25 feet or so of concrete were turned to vapor in less than a second. The guard seemed too stunned to speak at the devastation he had caused. His eyes sought those of the normal as he spoke. "Impressive. I cannot recall the last time a normal avoided my star beam." He spoke softly, his right arm aimed towards him once more. "Care to try again?" It was his choice... **
02:14 (2921) gerardpaloma: (lol)
02:14 (2962) Red Fox: (reading)
02:15 ** (2921) The Guard drops his shotgun and raises his hands. **
02:16 (2875) Lareth: Mind controling again. How she hated that. Now what it did, but what it had done to her.
02:16 ** (2962) Red Fox stepped up to the vault, "Move," she commanded the robot. She didn't wait for a response, however and simply blinked her way inside. [1d10+13] -> [6,13] = (19) (Awareness: What's in here? And who has the bags to hold it?) **
02:16 (2962) Red Fox: (ERROR?)
02:16 (2983) Talon: (I don't think anyone had the foresight to actually bring a sack :) )
02:16 (2982) Foe-Matic 2000: "ERROR!"
02:17 (2962) Red Fox: (that's okay, diamonds are small)
02:17 (2916) Mentacles: (Indeed. And it isnt as if it is loose cash... they bill are probably kept in cash boxes or otherwise banded together)
02:18 (2916) Mentacles: (we arent dealing with Scrooge McDuck's vault here)
02:18 (2982) Foe-Matic 2000: "This unit will now widen hole." F2K clamps its hands down on a chunk of wall and tugs as hard as it can. (Effective gradual strength = 200)
02:18 (2921) gerardpaloma: No one brought bags. There are stacks of T-bills and assorted cash, banded together.
02:18 (2983) Talon: Talon likewise looks around the vault. (Awareness [1d10 + 9] -> [8,9] = (17))
02:19 (2916) Mentacles: Mentacles goes invisible, and into the vault He takes off his toga, and uses it for a sack
02:19 (2921) gerardpaloma: (o_O)
02:19 (2983) Talon: (Eww)
02:19 (2962) Red Fox: (( so, nothing exceedingly valuable, like the Jewel of OMGz ))
02:19 (2916) Mentacles: (what?)
02:19 ** (2875) Lareth wondered when the supers would show up, attacking them to defend the bank. She would indeed enjoy the battle. An idea sparked in her mind as she thought this, that supers were normally quite reluctent to kill "innocent" people. Perhaps she could use that agaist them. Lareth began to render the citizens immobile, but still able to speak and see, and move them outside, as a sort of living shield agaist the coming supers. **
02:19 (2921) gerardpaloma: (nope. It's just a bank)
02:20 (2916) Mentacles: "Ah, such a nice crossbreeze"
02:20 ** (2967) Black Star smiled as the man dropped his shotgun and raised his hands. "An excellent strategy." He should kill the man. The normal was dangerous and yet he was properly cowed. More importantly, he had done what few had done before him. It would be a waste of monumental proportions to remove his genes from this world. He continued to hover past him. His eyes focusing on the man and telekinetically pushing him against a wall. The guard was picked up as if by a small hurricane and flung about, air exploding from his lungs before he passed out. The guard would live. He presed onwwards, utilizing his star beams to carefully cut a way through a series of bars that seperated this room from the room which he desired access. Moments later, his eyes were sliding over the various numbers and their boxes. The information he had acquired from John had been specific. Utilizing that date in conjunction with information received from Dr. Marius and others. That one. He came to a stop before box 462. **
02:20 ** (2962) Red Fox closes her eyes, fighting the image she never wanted to imagine. **
02:21 (2962) Red Fox: (reading)
02:21 (2967) Black Star: (err, typo. star beams should be eye beams. star beams cannot be controlled. ~_~)
02:22 (2983) Talon: "Ugh," Talon says aloud. "Well, I don't have any pockets on this thing. Where's that bucket of bolts?"
02:22 (2982) Foe-Matic 2000: "ERROR! This unit is a mechanical peacekeeping entity!"
02:22 (2983) Talon: "Whatever. And where the hell is Black Star?"
02:22 (2916) Mentacles: "DOnt worry,, the toga is big enough. I can carry a lot of stuff"
02:22 (2916) Mentacles: he places the toga on the floor, laying it out like a tarp
02:23 (2916) Mentacles: "Just put stuff on it, and the stuff shall be carried"
02:23 (2983) Talon: Talon shakes his hand and walks back to the vault door to see if F2K has managed to tear the hole open big enough for it to come through yet.
02:23 ** (2962) Red Fox thumbs a few of the stacks of cash. "All this for cash," she muses. "How ordinary." Despite the "ordinary" feeling to the heist, what girl can resist more fistfuls of cash than she can carry? Red Fox proceeds to literally line her pockets with it. **
02:23 (2983) Talon: *shakes his head
02:24 (2983) Talon: If not, he charges his PPC again.
02:24 (2916) Mentacles: like a typical lawyer, Mentacles revels in the money and invisibly rubs it all over himself before putting it on the toga for transport
02:24 (2983) Talon: (...)
02:24 (2916) Mentacles: (he is fucking nuts...)
02:25 (2983) Talon: (I'm so not touching that money)
02:25 (2962) Red Fox: (( okay. that's all his cash. ))
02:25 (2916) Mentacles: (you dont know abou the rubbing)
02:25 ** (2875) Lareth didn't care about money at all, having little use for it in her existance, using it only for clothing, and food, both of which she could easily steal. Outside, with the night still dark, she became invisible to the eye, and waited, patient to have chance for killing some of those who had wronged her. **
02:26 (2875) Lareth: (Im very glad I dont want the money now.)
02:26 (2983) Talon: Once F2K is free to come through, Talon orders it to open its storage compartment and he begins throwing stacks of cash inside.
02:27 (2962) Red Fox: (( what bank is open at night? ))
02:27 (2916) Mentacles: once the toga is filled with money, mentacles, ties up the corners and throws it over his shoulder
02:27 (2916) Mentacles: (this is true)
02:27 (2875) Lareth: (Yes, is it day or night? I can not remember.)
02:27 (2983) Talon: (It's a special bank)
02:28 (2983) Talon: (Our security staff is top notch, because they're all hardened felons, just like our customers)
02:28 (2921) gerardpaloma: (lol)
02:28 (2962) Red Fox: 8d
02:29 (2916) Mentacles: (is it bad that I can envision that?)
02:29 (2967) Black Star: It did not take a great deal of effort on his part to breach the physical defense that kept him from his prize within box 462. He watched the contents dispassionately, a handful of pieces of paper and a single data disk. The documents and disk were secured and the now empty box was replaced neatly where it had been originally. It was all he wanted from this place. He took a step back and then another before he came to a stop. What would happen if they discovered the box was empty? He smiled instantly aware that he had almost made a serious mistake. His eyes glanced around the room as he took a moment to consider. What was that humming sound? His eyes focused on the wall that contained all the lock boxes. Ah! The generator of course. The generator was back there. He almost grinned as he brought his right arm up and fired. The star beam plowed through the very box he had come here to steal as well as a handful of others that were too close to it. These boxes ceased to exist. The star beam did not end there however. It continued through the wall and into the generator room. When his star beam reached the generator apparatus it was diluted, a great deal of its force already attenuated. Nonetheless, it was still enough to puncture through the generator and bring it to a halt. With the generator out of commision, the bank was once more plunged into darkness. He hesitated for only a moment before flying back towards the stair well and up. Had the others been as busy as he had?
02:29 (2962) Red Fox: (reading)
02:31 (2983) Talon: Talon feels the ground rumble beneath his feet and the place goes dark. He never invested in night vision for his helmet. "Lights!" he commands.
02:31 (2982) Foe-Matic 2000: This unit will now use "flashlight".
02:31 (2982) Foe-Matic 2000: F2K switches on its flashlight.
02:32 (2983) Talon: Talon throws a few more stacks into F2K, before he tells the robot to close the compartment and follow him as he walks back out into the lobby.
02:32 (2916) Mentacles: Mentacles follows, still nude and invisible
02:33 (2916) Mentacles: (thankfully invisible)
02:33 (2875) Lareth: As the bank behind here went dark, Lareth spun around, wondering if the attack had been going on inside while she was outside. Glancing inside, she saw no one fighting, save the civilians. There was no battle. Relaxing again, she continued looking for the supers who were bound to come sooner or later, or at least she hoped.
02:34 (2916) Mentacles: (you know... If I wanted to be a real bastard, none of you could 'resist' him. If you catch my drift. Not that I would do that to any of you)
02:34 (2916) Mentacles: (well... the droid could)
02:34 ** (2967) Black Star joined up with the others as they reached the lobby. His eyes sliding towards Talon as he moved. "Did we get what we came here for?" He spoke softly. He had done his part. **
02:34 ** (2962) Red Fox looks up when the lights go out, this time for good. She finishes stuffing the last stack of 100s into her pocket and exits the vault, returning to the lobby. **
02:34 (2982) Foe-Matic 2000: (ERROR!)
02:35 (2983) Talon: "No. Not yet," he says cryptically, joining Lareth in searching the skies for incoming supers.
02:35 (2916) Mentacles: (I will however, find a way to crash your operating system)
02:35 ** (2962) Red Fox gawks at all of the carnage she missed waiting by the vault. **
02:35 (2916) Mentacles: Bank tellers were still screaming and clutching and gnashing their teeth)
02:36 (2921) gerardpaloma: (Talon and Lareth are outside, or just in the lobby looking out windows?)
02:36 (2875) Lareth: (Lareth is outside, invisible.)
02:36 (2967) Black Star: (
02:36 (2875) Lareth: (Right next to a bunch of civilains tha are paralyzed.)
02:36 (2983) Talon: (Just outside)
02:37 (2921) gerardpaloma: (alrighty then)
02:38 (2921) gerardpaloma: (the black line is the walls of the bank)
02:38 (2921) gerardpaloma: (place minis where they should be)
02:38 (2916) Mentacles: mentacles skips outside like a crazed schoolboy
02:39 (2983) Talon: (What's the scale?)
02:39 (2983) Talon: (Probably pretty wide if the whole building is only 6 squares wide)
02:40 (2921) gerardpaloma: (Um, like, 5 to 1)
02:41 (2921) gerardpaloma: Across the street is a seemingly ordinary mailbox.
02:41 (2916) Mentacles: Mentacles drops the sack, goes intangible again, and looks around
02:41 (2916) Mentacles: Mentacles tries to make it do the Can Can
02:41 (2983) Talon: (lol)
02:41 (2916) Mentacles: (just in case)
02:42 (2921) gerardpaloma: In a flash, the Mailbox becomes a fifteen foot tall creature.
02:42 (2916) Mentacles: (is it dancing?)
02:42 (2921) gerardpaloma: (no, it refuses to)
02:42 (2916) Mentacles: (it should be dancing)
02:42 (2983) Talon: Talon sighs. "Heroes around this town have gotten even slopper than I rememb... HOLY CRAP!"
02:43 (2916) Mentacles: (DAMN!)
02:43 (2921) gerardpaloma: Round 1
02:43 (2916) Mentacles: [1d10+19] -> [1,19] = (20)
02:43 (2916) Mentacles: (son of a whore)
02:43 (2916) Mentacles: [20-1d10] -> [20,-5] = (15)
02:43 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: [1d10+22] -> [9,22] = (31)
02:43 (2983) Talon: Talon's init: [1d10 + 13] -> [9,13] = (22)
02:43 (2875) Lareth: [1d10+42] -> [7,42] = (49)
02:43 (2983) Talon: F2K's init: [1d10 + 12] -> [3,12] = (15)
02:43 ** (2967) Black Star glanced at Talon for a moment as if trying to figure out exactly what he meant by that. By this point, he was well in touch with his power. His head turned as he glanced at Talon leave the bank lobby and join Lareth in the sky. Ah, so that was what they were waiting for. He took a deep breath and held it. Who would come to answer the call? They might as well have a trial by fire now than later. A part of him was tempted to join Talon in the sky. But if someone was going to get attacked it was those in the air. He would rather wait and see. **
02:44 (2962) Red Fox: I don't think we have the right postage.
02:44 (2875) Lareth: (I think I add a set At and initiative bonus for this, right.)
02:44 (2967) Black Star: [1d10+15) (initative?)
02:44 (2967) Black Star: [1d10+15] -> [7,15] = (22)
02:44 (2983) Talon: (No, Fixed AT's don't count for initiative)
02:44 (2875) Lareth: (Ok)[1d10+18] -> [8,18] = (26)
02:44 (2967) Black Star: (doh!)
02:44 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (there's no fixed AT for iniative, so it's just the bonus from speed)
02:44 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (right?)
02:45 (2983) Talon: (That's the one)
02:45 (2962) Red Fox: [1d10+13+30] -> [2,13,30] = (45)
02:45 (2983) Talon: (Holy crap)
02:45 (2967) Black Star: [1d10+14+15] -> [10,14,15] = (39)
02:46 (2967) Black Star: (that is my real initiative)
02:46 (2916) Mentacles: (doesmovement speed factor into this, or just the Speed powr?)
02:46 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (which I happen to have forgotten about for Mr. Mailman)
02:46 (2983) Talon: (Just speed, or its more limited cousin reflexes)
02:47 (2916) Mentacles: (k)
02:48 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: 1. Red Fox
02:48 (2983) Talon: (You rolled a 10, so you get to add another 1d10)
02:48 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (oh, right, whoops)
02:48 (2967) Black Star: (I got a 10 too. >:D)
02:48 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (that's what I was talking about)
02:48 (2983) Talon: (Who do you think I was talking to?)
02:49 (2967) Black Star: [1d10+39] -> [5,39] = (44)
02:49 (2967) Black Star: (so close! :(
02:49 (2962) Red Fox: (( silly calis. ))
02:49 (2962) Red Fox: (( woot! I still win! ))
02:49 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: 1. Red Fox
02:49 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: 2. Black Star
02:49 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: 3. The Mailman
02:49 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: 4. Lareth
02:50 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: 5. Talon
02:50 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: 6. Fom2k
02:50 (2916) Mentacles: (Me roll 1, me caught off guard)
02:50 (2983) Talon: (Should be 6. F2K, Mentacles, yes?)
02:50 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: That's right
02:51 (2916) Mentacles: (yeah, dont forget mentacles! SHow mentacles some love!)
02:51 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: 6. Fom2k, Mentacles
02:51 (2962) Red Fox: (feh.)
02:51 ** (2962) Red Fox begins looking for a suitably large object to drop on the Mailman's head. (Car, Truck, Mountain, you know.) **
02:51 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (1d3)
02:52 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (right?)
02:52 (2962) Red Fox: [1d3] -> [1] = (1)
02:52 (2916) Mentacles: (yes)
02:52 (2983) Talon: (Never thought of using it that way, but yes)
02:52 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (what else would it be?)
02:52 (2967) Black Star: (ok. two things. 1, isn't abominable mailman a baddie? and two, what the hell is he doing?)
02:53 (2962) Red Fox: (( not that a car to the head will do anything, but it's better than nothing ))
02:53 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (villainry and superheroism is flexible in SS. You should know that, BS. ;))
02:53 (2967) Black Star: (hehehe. point taken!)
02:53 (2983) Talon: (I never thought of using teleport to drop heavy objects on someone's head, so there are no guidelines for that)
02:53 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (ok, so it takes 1 round for Red Fox to find a suitable item.)
02:53 (2962) Red Fox: (( well, it's 1d3 rounds to find an object to throw, so this isn't much different ))
02:54 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: Blackstar's turn
02:55 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (I know Lareth is currently invisible. What about Mentacles and Red Fox?)
02:55 (2967) Black Star: (kk. he just sitting there?)
02:55 (2962) Red Fox: (( invisible ))
02:55 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (for now)
02:55 (2916) Mentacles: (I am invisible,and intangible)
02:55 (2967) Black Star: (I am holding my action until I see what he does.)
02:55 (2916) Mentacles: (I am naked for fuck's sake)
02:56 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (so a contingent action? I forget how those work)
02:56 (2967) Black Star: (if he does anything that I would consider "threattening" I want to try and pr-empt.)
02:56 (2916) Mentacles: (they slow the action down by 1 phase)
02:56 (2962) Red Fox: (( just like programming. IF: THEN ))
02:56 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (that's right)
02:57 ** (2921) The Abominable Mailman roars and leaps with frightening speed at Blackstar. **
02:57 (2983) Talon: (If you delay an action to wait and see, you go one phase later. If you don't delay, but instead guess what someone will do and put a THEN, you go first)
02:58 (2967) Black Star: (kk, if he attacks I want to intervene. If not, he can deliever all the cookies he wants.)
02:58 (2916) Mentacles: (he is attacking you)
02:58 (2967) Black Star: (writting)
02:59 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (so BS gets a shot to do what he wants to do now, then, and they go simultaneous, yes?)
02:59 (2983) Talon: (Well, BS goes right before)
02:59 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (ok)
03:03 (2967) Black Star: He had nothing against the mailman personally. He had always considered him more of a side show than an actual super, but to each his own. At this particular juncture however he did not wish to deal with potential problems. It had been sometime since the last time he had seen the mailman operate, why had he chosen to intervene now? He had been more than willing to allow the mailman to walk away. That was all he had to do. Walk away. He seemed to have other ideas however. He charged at him moving far more quickly than he remembered. Still, he had changed as well. His eyes had seized to be human eyes quite sometime ago. Ebon pools of color seemed to seethe with untold hate as Mailman charged. He dared?! Linear movement was easy to counter. And as such he acted. His right arm brought to bear a millisecond before he unleashed a torrent of liquid anger towards his opponent. The old black star had harnessed exotic energy. That Black Star was as dead as last year's roses. His mother had unlocked within his true power. Pure Entropy, perhaps the most destructive force oin the universe flodded from his very being and lashed out. It was a 2 meter beam of pure blackness, a darkness so pure it seemed to swallow all light and color around it.
03:03 (2962) Red Fox: 8D
03:03 (2967) Black Star: [1d10+14+6] -> [7,14,6] = (27) (heavy overcharge)
03:03 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: [1d10+22] -> [1,22] = (23)
03:04 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: [23-1d10] -> [23,-1] = (22)
03:04 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (so that's the Star Beams, then?)
03:05 (2967) Black Star: (that is one star beam, 250 dmg 1.50 times overcharged to 375 dmg)
03:05 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (Gotcha)
03:05 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: The Star Beams tear into the Mailman, but he doesn't seem to feel them.
03:06 (2983) Talon: (Yikes)
03:06 (2962) Red Fox: (( yeah, sure a car's gonna hurt him. :/ ))
03:06 (2967) Black Star: (ha! :P)
03:06 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: The Mailman attacks.
03:06 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: [1d10+22] -> [8,22] = (30)
03:06 (2967) Black Star: [1d10+10+6] -> [9,10,6] = (25)
03:07 (2967) Black Star: (clearly, he has been eating his wheaties.)
03:07 (2962) Red Fox: (( and anything else in front of him ))
03:07 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (that's a hit, the Mailman does 300 damage with his fists.)
03:07 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (BS's force screen soaks 100, and the other 200 go to his Type 2)
03:07 (2967) Black Star: (sweet. shield loses 200 power. I am taking to the air next turn.)
03:08 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: Lareth's turn
03:08 (2875) Lareth: Dropping her control of the air around her that she used to make herself invivisble, Lareth struck at the strange creature's mind, attempting to force the air from its body. As she completed the change in reality, Lareth removed herself from the world, and flew upwards. (7 rank aphixiation, permanent, 24 at [1d10+24] -> [2,24] = (26), intangiably with 1 round recovery time, and then 450 MV stright upwards.)
03:09 (2962) Red Fox: (( I love this game. 8D ))
03:10 (2875) Lareth: (Hopefully no sonic boom with being intagiable.)
03:11 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (hang on, figuring something out)
03:11 ** (2967) Black Star frowned ever so slightly when the mailman ran straight into his overpowered star beam and did not seem to feel it. Hmm, that was interesting. There was no knockback, there was nothing at all. As if the mailman could violate the very laws of physics. He had a feeling that this was going to be a little tricky. The mailman tried to pummel him, a clumsy and inelegant way to fight but the fist managed to make contact. His eyes did not have time to widen, his force screen flared, robbing his blow of strength even as his energy shield manifested like a sapphire wall before him. The shield buckled ever so slightly but he felt no pain. His eyes promised untold agonies to the mailman as he prepared to take to the sky. **
03:12 (2875) Lareth: (Oh, and the attack is a projectile, moving at 1,500, with a Df 45 to hit, and needs 2500 damage to destroy.)
03:12 ** (2921) The Abominable Mailman evidently does not conform to the ordinary rules of physiology, and the asphyxiation has no affect. **
03:13 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: Talon's turn.
03:13 (2983) Talon: Talon charges up his PPC as he calls his jetsetter, which will arrive in [1d6] -> [1] = (1) rounds.
03:14 (2982) Foe-Matic 2000: "ERROR!" shouts the robot as the mailbox transforms into a creature. "This unit will now render 'mailbox' fit for transport to the nearest correctional facility," as its clamp receeds and is replaced by the taser.
03:14 (2982) Foe-Matic 2000: F2K flies toward the mailman and attempts to taser it.
03:15 (2982) Foe-Matic 2000: [1d10 + 17] -> [5,17] = (22)
03:15 (2916) Mentacles: Mentacles tries one more time, to force the creature to his will. COncentrating he puts his mind to forcing the creature to punch itself in the face at full force
03:15 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: [1d10+22] -> [8,22] = (30)
03:15 (2982) Foe-Matic 2000: (7 ranks of paralysis)
03:15 (2916) Mentacles: [1d10+19] -> [8,19] = (27) to hit
03:15 (2916) Mentacles: (10 ranks of mind control)
03:15 (2962) Red Fox: (( Stop hitting yourself! Stop hitting yourself! Stop hitting yourself! ))
03:16 ** (2921) The Abominable Mailman evades FoM2k's taser. **
03:16 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: Mentacles cannot seem to break into The Mailman's mind. It could almost be described as a giant blank spot.
03:17 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: Round 2
03:17 (2962) Red Fox: [1d10+13+30] -> [6,13,30] = (49)
03:17 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: [1d10+22] -> [4,22] = (26)
03:17 (2916) Mentacles: (the fuck.... so he has hundreds of HP and is resistant to..everyting?)
03:17 (2875) Lareth: [1d10+18] -> [7,18] = (25)
03:17 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (not everything, just what you're trying)
03:17 (2916) Mentacles: [1d10+19] -> [5,19] = (24)
03:17 (2962) Red Fox: (( key word: abominable ))
03:17 (2967) Black Star: (clearly he is level 8. there are 5 of us.)
03:17 (2875) Lareth: (Looks like so far.)
03:17 (2967) Black Star: [1d10+14+15] -> [1,14,15] = (30)
03:17 (2967) Black Star: (boo!)
03:18 (2962) Red Fox: (( tee hee ))
03:18 (2982) Foe-Matic 2000: [1d10 + 12] -> [9,12] = (21)
03:18 (2983) Talon: [1d10 + 13] -> [5,13] = (18)
03:18 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: Red Fox has teleported up a car, or whatever, at this point.
03:18 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: 1. Red Fox
03:19 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (Black star should roll again, with a minus)
03:19 (2967) Black Star: (what minus?)
03:19 (2875) Lareth: (fatiuge)
03:19 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (you rolled a 1, so you roll 30-1d10)
03:19 (2983) Talon: (Syntax is "30 - 1d10")
03:19 (2967) Black Star: [30-1d10] -> [30,-9] = (21)
03:19 (2916) Mentacles: (I am tempted to lok at other people's sheets... afterall, if I wish it, your powers are my powers)
03:19 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (I forget, we changed that since the last you played)
03:20 (2967) Black Star: (:)
03:20 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: 2. The Mailman
03:20 (2983) Talon: (It was Hotfoot's suggestion to make the dice open-ended. Blame him :) )
03:20 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: 3. Lareth
03:20 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: 4. Mentacles
03:20 (2967) Black Star: (works for me. :)
03:20 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: 5. Fom2k, Blackstar
03:20 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: 6. Talon
03:20 ** (2962) Red Fox eyes a nearby tractor trailer, her initial thought is to put it on the monster's head, but after seeing the punishment it's taken, and given, she takes a different tack. 03:21 (2962) Red Fox: (100m into the air)
03:21 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (full reach is 100 m, right, ok)
03:21 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (we'll say it hits him next phase)
03:22 ** (2921) The Abominable Mailman continues to pummel Blackstar, this time hitting him more than once **

03:22 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: [1d10+22] -> [5,22] = (27)

03:25 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (what type of OC?)
03:25 (2967) Black Star: (heavy overcharge to shield from 480 = 840, my FP 7)
03:25 (2967) Black Star: (errr, super charge.)
03:26 (2967) Black Star: (my bad.)
03:27 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: Blackstar gets wailed on, but not before he manages to supercharge his shield. His shield takes 600 damage.
03:27 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: Lareth's turn, who is currently speeding away at 450 mps.
03:28 ** (2967) Black Star had a feeling that he was on a fight that he was not going to win as easily as he had expected. When the mailman continued to press forward, his eyes narrowed. Shit, this was probably going to hurt. He had no choice really, the sapphire wall flared becoming more intricate, each link seeming to reinforce itself in anticipation for the onslaught. The mailman's fists exploded against his shield but it held. **
03:28 (2875) Lareth: Frowning at her attack having no effect, Lareth tries a different route this time, bypassing his armor completely.(Projectile, ignores armor, 1,500 speed, no knockback, even damage, 24 AT. 69 damage.) After that attack, Lareth tries yet another way, and then another.(Projectile, ignores armor, 1,500 speed, 24 AT, no knockback, even damage. 69 damage Other attack, projectile, DF 45 to hit, 2500 to be destroyed, 1,500 speed, ignores armor, cannot miss, even damage, no knockback. 50 damage.)

03:29 (2875) Lareth: (She drops her intangiability to attack.)
03:30 (2875) Lareth: (All corrosion damage.)
03:30 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: [1d10+22] -> [4,22] = (26)
03:30 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: [1d10+22] -> [5,22] = (27)
03:31 (2983) Talon: (You have to roll for those first two. 1d10 + 24)
03:32 (2875) Lareth: (I did. The 41 result and 28.
03:32 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (yeah, isn't that right?)
03:32 (2983) Talon: (Oh, I missed them for some reason)
03:32 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: All three attacks hit the Mailman. He takes 188 damage directly. He roars with pain.
03:32 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: Mentacles turn
03:32 (2875) Lareth: (Question about the super system. Is damage like it was in the Apprentices, or functions like a type 2 shield?)
03:33 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (there are two types of armor/protection, type 1 and type 2)
03:33 (2916) Mentacles: Mentacles looks around for something he would control to distract the creature
03:33 (2983) Talon: (Same as in Apprentices. You compare damage to HP and lower the Damage State accordingly)
03:34 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (Mailman's status is hurt)
03:34 (2916) Mentacles: (maybe I can make someone start stealing mail from real mailboxes...)
03:35 (2916) Mentacles: (might personally offend him or something)
03:35 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: There are a few people on the street watching the fight in awe.
03:35 (2916) Mentacles: Mentacles forces one of them to run directly between the creature and Black Star, maybe he will object to bludgeoning a human shield to death
03:36 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: FoM2k and Blackstar's turns
03:37 (2967) Black Star: (please, let the meatbag go last. :)

03:37 ** (2921) The Abominable Mailman keeps FoM2k at bay. **
03:37 (2982) Foe-Matic 2000: "ERROR!" it cries, even more loudly and full of distress.
03:38 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (how many turns before Talon's whatsit came back?)
03:39 (2962) Red Fox: 1
03:39 ** (2967) Black Star growled at the mailman the first indication of frustration at his refusal to die like he should. His left arm moved, preparing to fire a point blank shot at his target when a civilian stumbled between them. Had it been a man, he would have fired anyway. But it was a woman and for a moment, a fraction of a second he saw John's wife face accusing him. He hesitated visibly for a moment and then took to the sky. As he rose into the air, he looked down and attempted to fire at the mailman from the top down going through some pain to avoid hitting the civilian woman... **
03:39 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: Talon's whatsit has returned.
03:39 (2967) Black Star: [1d10+14+6] -> [1,14,6] = (21)
03:39 (2967) Black Star: (HA!)

03:40 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: [1d10+22] -> [5,22] = (27)
03:40 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: Blackstar's beam hits the woman. She dies.
03:40 (2983) Talon: This probably would not do anything, but Talon fires a blast from his PPC anyway as he jumps onto his jetsetter. Hopefully Black Star's blast weakened its defences enough for this to work. [1d10 + 21] -> [2,21] = (23)
03:40 (2967) Black Star: (>.<)>
03:40 (2983) Talon: (lol)

03:41 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: [32+1d10] -> [32,6] = (38)
03:41 (2967) Black Star: (not only does he dodge. he looks good while doing it. :)
03:41 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: Talon's PPC flies past the Mailman and puts a rather large hole in a nearby building.
03:42 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (err, blast from his PPC, rather)
03:42 (2983) Talon: (Oh noes, my PPC!)
03:42 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: The tractor trailer drops onto the Mailman's head.
03:42 (2916) Mentacles: (sorry guys, I would fuck him up, but he is strangely immune to my evil)
03:43 (2967) Black Star: (okay. lets go over what we have seen. he is immune to level 10 mind control and level 7 apshyixia. he is a tough cookie and he has better offense and defense skills than any of us with the potential exception of lareth, but she cheats. my suggestion? get the fuck out. all we are doing now is looking impotent.)
03:43 (2967) Black Star: (
03:44 (2962) Red Fox: (( ahem? ))
03:44 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (figuring, dude)
03:45 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: The trailer falls on the Mailman and explodes. He staggers, and roars again.
03:45 (2916) Mentacles: (you could teleport him into the air or something... )
03:45 (2962) Red Fox: (( read it again ))
03:45 (2967) Black Star: (be realistic. red has a 10% chance of success)
03:46 (2916) Mentacles: (ah)
03:46 (2967) Black Star: (mailman's base defense is 22

03:47 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (retcon!)
03:47 (2967) Black Star: (ooops)
03:48 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (Has Red Fox rolled the attack? If not, do so)
03:48 (2962) Red Fox: (( it was 15 ))

03:49 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: The teleport attempt fails.
03:49 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: Now we go forward with Round 3, anyone who rolled can keep their roll, if they so wish
03:50 (2875) Lareth: (I do. 27 init.)
03:50 (2916) Mentacles: (same)

03:51 (2967) Black Star: (you have to have the cannot miss perk.)
03:51 (2983) Talon: (If it's not inerrant, it's a beam / projectile. Might be an invisible one, but it's still an attack)
03:51 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (I'm just going by what Art tells me. Unless it's inerrant...yeah, what he said)
03:52 (2983) Talon: (I'm keeping my same init, btw)
03:53 (2916) Mentacles: (yeah, but as has been done, he cant didge what he cant see)
03:53 (2916) Mentacles: (dodge)
03:53 (2916) Mentacles: (*shrugs*)
03:53 (2967) Black Star: (*looks at red fox* Angel moy, roll that initiative please. :)

03:54 (2967) Black Star: (that is my girl! >:D)
03:54 (2983) Talon: (He can feel it coming. The particulars are glossed over, but the point is that status effects don't enjoy special bonuses)
03:54 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: 2. Black Star
03:54 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: 3. Lareth
03:54 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: 4. The Mailman, Mentacles
03:54 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: 5. Talon
03:54 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: 6. Fom2k
03:56 (2916) Mentacles: (BACK)
03:57 (2916) Mentacles: (fair enough)
03:57 ** (2962) Red Fox looks confused briefly. She recovers quickly and teleports the tractor trailer above the Mailman's head. (100m) [1d10+13] -> [5,13] = (18) **
03:57 whispering to The Abominable Mailman, Enemy's Init: [1d10+30] -> [4,30] = (34)
03:57 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (next phase is when it hits)
03:57 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: Black Star's turn
04:00 (2916) Mentacles: (You know... I should learn to fly... just so while incorporeal I can rematerialize INSIDE like...the urinary bladder of one of thes e creatures and wreak havoc with a knife)
04:01 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (oh, everyone should roll spot)
04:01 (2962) Red Fox: (( there is no spot 8D ))

04:02 (2962) Red Fox: [1d10+13] -> [2,13] = (15)
04:02 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (awareness, then)
04:02 (2916) Mentacles: [1d10+8] -> [3,8] = (11)
04:02 (2982) Foe-Matic 2000: [1d10] -> [6] = (6)
04:02 (2983) Talon: (Wow, that was a disgrace)
04:02 ** (2967) Black Star climbed into the air after having fired his attack towards the mailman. He watched in utter surprise as for whatever reason his attack veered of course. It was not so much that Mailman had dodged. He had and yet he had not. For that moment, he was confused. Why? The woman did not die so much as she ceased to be. His star beam enveloping for an instant and then erasing her from reality. Pupilless black orbs stared in wonder as the woman vanished. He was always in control. HE decided who lived or died! He hovered roughly 30 meters in the air staring at the small crater that signified where his star beam had fallen. There was no blood, there was no clothing. There was nothing. His eyes focused on those of the mailman. HE always decided who lived or died! HE DECIDED! His body twitched, rage washing over him waves. For a moment, he looked like a sun about to explode and take everything with it. It was a near thing. His lips parting as he growled. "YOU are too late! I HAVE what I want mailman!" He did not care who listened. He pressed onwards. "We will postopone this meeting for another time! You an count on it!" His arm moved, a star beam born in the depths of his rage and plowing into one of the parked cars nearby. It went up like a roman candle, the het of the explosion causing others nearby to ignite as well. A sea of shrapnel lashed out against those normals that had been watching their display. He watched for only a moment before he climbed further into the sky. He would not stay here and wait other supers to come for them. He was done. HE decided who lived or died.... **
04:02 (2916) Mentacles: (HAHA!)
04:02 (2875) Lareth: (If this is what I think it is...)
04:03 (2967) Black Star: (sorry, mised all of that)
04:03 (2967) Black Star: [1d10+8] -> [7,8] = (15)
04:03 (2962) Red Fox: (( Black Star is the Decider! ))
04:03 (2967) Black Star: (( ~_~ ))
04:04 (2916) Mentacles: (wow... Mentacles will have to have a little 'talk' with him)
04:05 (2875) Lareth: (Lareth's turn?)
04:05 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (hold on)
04:05 (2916) Mentacles: (call shot his head!!)
04:05 (2921) Enemy: [1d10+30] -> [8,30] = (38)
04:05 (2875) Lareth: (Yup. Oh great.)
04:06 (2921) Enemy: A jet of flame lights up the block and engulfs Lareth.
04:06 ** (2967) Black Star stopped his climb towards the sky above him when he noticed that someone was about. 50 meters...there. He could not identify the super, but he assumed the worst and immediately decided on his course of action. He spoke loudly, just loud enough for some of his super associates to hear. "we have company. staying here is no longer an option." As he did so, he flew low disappearing from the line of sight of his guest as he quickly accelerated to his top speed. **
04:06 (2921) Enemy: (do we use Willpower?)
04:06 (2916) Mentacles: (what a cowardly bitch)
04:07 (2967) Black Star: (pffft! what have we accomplished here? besides, you don't know where I am going.)
04:07 (2875) Lareth: (I am glad I dont stay dead.)
04:09 (2921) Enemy: Lareth is engulfed in flames. Her skin melts from her bones, and smells a bit like pork frying.
04:09 (2875) Lareth: (She's dead, right?)
04:09 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (quite, for now)
04:09 (2962) Red Fox: (( Lareth! The *other*, *other*, *other* white meat! ))
04:09 (2967) Black Star: ((lol))
04:10 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: Mentacles turn.
04:10 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (Red Fox and Mentacles are still invisible, right?)
04:10 (2962) Red Fox: yes
04:10 (2916) Mentacles: (Oh god yes, and intenagible)
04:10 (2916) Mentacles: (intangible)
04:10 (2967) Black Star: ^--- (cowardly bitch)

04:11 (2916) Mentacles: mentacles knows when he is beaten. he cant pick up sack, so he just leaves it and silently gets out of dodge
04:12 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: 276 damage to Fom2k's type 2.
04:12 (2916) Mentacles: (at 90 meters per second)
04:12 (2982) Foe-Matic 2000: "This unit is under attack!" F2K hollars unnecessarily.
04:13 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (lol)
04:13 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: Talon's turn
04:13 (2983) Talon: Talon takes off into the air at full speed away from both the mailman and the unknown attacker. He needed to make some distance. As he speeds by, he looks at the mighty explosion Black Star had made. What a nutjob, he thought, not realizing the irony.
04:13 (2982) Foe-Matic 2000: "ERROR! ERROR! ERROR!" F2K shouts as it attacks, the buttons on his face lighting up. [1d10 + 17] -> [7,17] = (24)
04:13 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: [1d10+22] -> [3,22] = (25)
04:13 ** (2921) The Abominable Mailman is too fast for Fom2k **
04:13 (2875) Lareth: Flames enveloped Lareth, burning her skin, turning her body to ashes. The pain was intense, made more so by the knowledge that she had been found again. As she died, Lareth vowed revenge, as she always had, every time she died.
04:14 (2982) Foe-Matic 2000: "ERRRRRRRROOOOOOOORRRRRR!"
04:14 (2967) Black Star: (that is ironic talon. :P but BS has control issues.)
04:14 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: Round 4

04:15 (2967) Black Star: (I have no interest in the cash, and lareth is too far away from me atm.)
04:16 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: The trailer crashes down on the Mailman's head and explodes. He staggers, then roars again.
04:16 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: No direct damage.

04:17 ** (2962) Red Fox drops to the ground when the street is lit by flame. The stench of Lareth being burned alive assaults her senses as does the eery way Lareth silently burns. The others were already leaving the scene. She looked up at the Mailman. The behemoth would not be satiated anytime soon. The character down the street was an unknown entity, though definitely hostile. In over her head for once, and not a little anxious about it, Red Fox teleports as far away as possible, remaining strategically invisible the whole time. **

04:21 (2916) Mentacles: (I can hear the stop and go THUMPTHUMPTHUMPTHUMP)
04:21 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: The first hit blasts into Fom2k, dropping his Type 2 to almost nothing. Fom2k evades the second hit.
04:22 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (Fom2k's type 2 at 8)
04:22 (2962) Red Fox: (( ERROR! ))
04:22 (2982) Foe-Matic 2000: "ERROR! This unit is under attack!" F2K repeats as it analyzes the situation to perfect its attack. (delayed attack)
04:22 (2983) Talon: Oh no you don't, Talon thought as he streaks after the mysterious new enemy. He'll follow for at least 3 rounds. If the figure is getting farther and farther away, he gives up and comes back.
04:22 ** (2967) Black Star had always studied the ways in and out of the city back when he had worked for SENTINEL. It had been all with the goal of fighting villains then, but now that knowledge served him well. He was not invisible, and speeding as low as he was over the streets of serenity springs he was undoubtedly drawing attention. which was why the moment he saw an entry point for the serenity springs subway system, he took it. He flew through entrance, at times mere feet over crowds of nromals that stared at him in wide eyed disbelief. After he made it into the train tracks, it was a simple of matter of knowing where to go. He knew the entry points and exit points well and had seeded various points with normal clothing and various other supplies in case he had to enter the warren of tunnels as Black Star and leave it only as Calis. All that was left was to find out who had survived this debacle...and if this so called "team" had any real future. **
04:24 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: The Mysterious Enemy easily outpaces Talon's Jetsetter.
04:24 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (so...what does delayed attack mean? next round?)
04:24 (2982) Foe-Matic 2000: (Next round at +2)
04:25 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: Round 5
04:25 (2982) Foe-Matic 2000: [1d10 + 12] -> [3,12] = (15)
04:25 (2983) Talon: [1d10 + 13] -> [9,13] = (22)
04:25 (2916) Mentacles: (well, I am like...gone... so...)
04:25 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: [1d10+22] -> [6,22] = (28)
04:25 (2962) Red Fox: (( me either ))
04:26 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: The Mailman pounds on Fom2k some more.
04:26 (2916) Mentacles: (is it really necessary for me to stick around, seeing as I have yet to eat today)
04:26 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: [1d10+22] -> [3,22] = (25)
04:26 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: [1d10+22] -> [5,22] = (27)
04:26 (2967) Black Star: (ouch aly :()
04:26 (2982) Foe-Matic 2000: [1d10 + 17] -> [10,17] = (27)
04:26 (2982) Foe-Matic 2000: [1d10 + 17] -> [5,17] = (22)
04:26 (2982) Foe-Matic 2000: [27 + 1d10] -> [27,6] = (33)
04:26 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (no, you guys can take off if need be, once this fight's over, we're calling it a session)
04:26 (2967) Black Star: (*potes* go make nice nice with some food.)
04:26 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (I'll post the chat log asap)
04:26 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: Fom2k evades the attacks
04:27 (2916) Mentacles: (later slave-worms)
04:27 (2967) Black Star: (ciao aly!)
04:27 (2921) The Abominable Mailman: (hasta)
04:27 (2916) Mentacles: Disconnecting from server...
04:27 (2916) Mentacles (exit): 16:27
04:27 (2983) Talon: Noticing that F2K cannot win this battle, but refuses to retreat. Talon gives the "follow" command over his radio.
04:27 (2982) Foe-Matic 2000: Heeding the command, F2K takes off toward Talon at full speed.
04:28 ** (2921) The Abominable Mailman roars as Fom2k flies off. He leaps after at, but has no chance at keeping up. **
04:28 (2982) Foe-Matic 2000: F2K aims one last "ERROR!" over its shoulder at the Mailman.
04:28 (2921) gerardpaloma: The whole party escapes, minus the cash, and minus Lareth, who will most likely wake up in a freezer in the morgue.
04:28 (2967) Black Star: (that will be creepy. o.O)
04:29 (2962) Red Fox: (( what's her recovery rate? ))
04:29 (2967) Black Star: (1 rate every 10 mins)
04:29 (2967) Black Star: (just like BS)
04:29 (2921) gerardpaloma: (10 minutes per state, I think)
04:29 (2875) Lareth: (No, 1 state per minute.)
04:29 (2983) Talon: (10 mins per state. Death counts as 10 states and coma as 5, so that's 100 + 50 + 50)
04:29 (2983) Talon: (Ah, so about 20 minutes then)
04:30 (2962) Red Fox: (( ah. Fox isn't going to stand around waiting for that. ))
04:30 (2921) gerardpaloma: (so maybe in a body bag in the meatwagon, then)
04:30 (2967) Black Star: ((( heh. no kidding.))
04:30 (2962) Red Fox: (( or while the cops are standing around figuring out what happened. ))
04:30 (2967) Black Star: (art is such a meanie for knowing what buttons to push. ~_~)
04:31 (2983) Talon: Talon and F2K head back to his hideout using the "secret entrance". (Which is so secret that I won't even say what it is)
04:31 (2967) Black Star: (works. :P)
04:31 (2921) gerardpaloma: Oh, **End Combat**
04:31 (2921) gerardpaloma: Who was that Mysterious Enemy? Was the bank job worth it? Will our group of villains find a way to work together? Join us next issue as we try to answer these questions, and ask new ones! Until next time, true believers!
04:31 (2921) gerardpaloma: **End Issue 2**
04:31 (2983) Talon: Hmm, not the best of beginnings, Talon muses. Oh well. Nothing ever goes right the first time anyway.
04:32 (2983) Talon: Whee!
04:32 (2921) gerardpaloma: That was fun!
04:32 (2967) Black Star: hehehe
04:32 (2967) Black Star: it was certainly interesting.
04:32 (2983) Talon: I've got a serious grudge against the Mailman now
04:32 (2962) Red Fox: How much time passes between End 2 and Beginning 3?
04:32 (2967) Black Star: it had nothing to do with us "working" together though.
04:32 (2967) Black Star: mailman nullified mentacles lock stock and barrel.
04:32 (2921) gerardpaloma: I'll make a bit of a post about our Mysterious Enemy, since that won't be the last you'll see of him.
04:33 (2967) Black Star: and there was not much that red fox mashiara could do either.
04:33 (2875) Lareth: I might get to kill him? Yes...
04:33 (2967) Black Star: so pretty much it was up to lareth.
04:33 (2921) gerardpaloma: I dunno, as much time as necessary for BS to analyze those files he stole.
04:33 (2983) Talon: Nullified all of us. Neither F2K nor Talon ever hit him once.
04:33 (2967) Black Star: yup.
04:33 (2921) gerardpaloma: Oh, which reminds me, I need to roll for when he'll show up again.
04:33 (2967) Black Star: red fox had to roll a 10 or mailman a 1 for him to be hit.
04:33 (2875) Lareth: I was going to use all 11 actions to hit it with 50 damage per action, autohitting and bypassing armor, but I was fried alive.
04:33 (2983) Talon: And the paralysis probably wouldn't have worked anyway.
04:33 whispering to gerardpaloma, [1d4] -> *result edited*
04:33 (2921) gerardpaloma: Ok
04:33 (2967) Black Star: so clearly, it hardly mattered.
04:34 (2962) Red Fox: I'm still not clear how an instant fire can be dodged.
04:34 (2983) Talon: Death of a thousand bee stings. It might have worked eventually, as long as he had less than 500 HP.
04:34 (2967) Black Star: doubt it.
04:34 (2967) Black Star: his defense was better than our usual attack.
04:34 (2921) gerardpaloma: Probably not.
04:34 (2983) Talon: Otherwise 50 damage would have no effect
04:34 (2967) Black Star: so he was for all intensive purposes a big cock block.
04:35 (2983) Talon: It's not instant fire
04:35 (2967) Black Star: unless you had inerrant/armor ignoring attacks.
04:35 (2983) Talon: If it doesn't have "cannot miss", it's not instant fire
04:35 (2967) Black Star: which only lareth has. :)
04:35 (2921) gerardpaloma: True, although I hadn't intended that. I had intended him to be difficult, but not impossible. Turns out he was impossible. Now I know what to work on for next time.
04:36 (2967) Black Star: its understandable.
04:36 (2967) Black Star: we have a varied group.
04:36 (2875) Lareth: My problem is actually hurting people with my wimpy 50 damage.
04:36 (2967) Black Star: anything that is too easy for BS, Lareth will probably dominate.
04:36 (2967) Black Star: anything that is tough for Lareth, will dominate us.
04:37 (2967) Black Star: lareth has nearly double everyone's else SP
04:37 (2967) Black Star: what ya expect?
04:37 (2983) Talon: With a single opponent against a whole group, you pretty much have to make him immune to all status attacks or it will be a cake walk, but you still have to watch out for those Type I defenses. Those can easily make someone unbeatable.
04:37 (2921) gerardpaloma: Which was the problem.
04:37 (2967) Black Star: problem is that we have someone that is all status effects pretty much.
04:37 (2967) Black Star: so you pretty much took aly out of the equation completely.
04:37 (2967) Black Star: he might as well have been there dancing.
04:38 (2921) gerardpaloma: Well, he was a friggin giant mailbox creature. He doesn't have a mind to affect. He's like the Tick.
04:38 (2983) Talon: I don't see that as a problem necessarily. Some opponents can't be beaten certain ways. But they have to be beatable somehow or other.
04:39 (2967) Black Star: justifiable? yes. does it take Aly completely from the game? yes.
04:39 (2967) Black Star: that would be like an entropic immune super.
04:39 (2967) Black Star: I can't do squat to him.
04:39 (2921) gerardpaloma: Yeah, that's why there's a team.
04:40 (2921) gerardpaloma: There's not going to be a single enemy that's immune to everything, although this one seemed like it.
04:40 (2983) Talon: It's possible to be immune to entropy, just like it's possible to be immune to mind-affecting. Anyway, Talon is definitely starting an investigation to find out why the Mailman got such a jump in power, when before he was so pathetic that Talon invoked him to taunt Gilgamesh
04:40 (2967) Black Star: fair enough.
04:40 (2967) Black Star: I had fun doing my writting thing.
04:40 (2875) Lareth: Just curious, would any status effects have worked?
04:41 (2921) gerardpaloma: What did you have in mind?
04:41 (2875) Lareth: Literally all of them.
04:41 (2875) Lareth: Save the mind control ones.
04:41 (2921) gerardpaloma: Well, say, paralysis. That would have worked.
04:42 (2921) gerardpaloma: The teleportation that Red Fox tried would have worked, too.
04:43 (2967) Black Star: if it hit.
04:43 (2921) gerardpaloma: Right
04:43 (2967) Black Star: the odds of that were miniscul.e
04:43 (2967) Black Star: 22 vs 13
04:43 (2967) Black Star: simple math.
04:43 (2983) Talon: Yeah, but falling 100 meters wouldn't have hurt someone that could laugh off 375 damage
04:44 (2875) Lareth: 75 sp and 30 xp again? Or was it 35 xp...
04:44 (2921) gerardpaloma: Oh, right, SP and XP. Let's see.
04:45 (2967) Black Star: it was 35 xp and 70 sp last time I believe.
04:46 (2921) gerardpaloma: 110 SP and 55 XP.
04:46 (2962) Red Fox: total or ... ?
04:46 (2875) Lareth: total, or for this time?
04:46 (2921) gerardpaloma: This time
04:46 (2921) gerardpaloma: Total would be 180 and 90.
04:46 (2983) Talon: Woot!
04:46 (2967) Black Star: o.O
04:46 (2967) Black Star: very nice. :)
04:47 (2982) Foe-Matic 2000: Enkidu sprints out of sight...
04:47 (2982) Foe-Matic 2000 (exit): 16:47
04:47 (2983) Talon: Doh!
04:47 (2967) Black Star: my next version will be prettier I promise.
04:47 (2921) gerardpaloma: Oh, and try to get me those sheets sometime before Sunday morning. I have another game right before this one, so it's not like I can go over them before we start.
04:47 (2967) Black Star: earned xp and earned sp will be there.
04:47 (2967) Black Star: /embarassed
04:48 (2921) gerardpaloma: I know, I do the same thing, but maybe if you're thinking about it sometime during the week, just update your sheet and send it along.
04:48 (2967) Black Star: I will. :)
04:48 (2921) gerardpaloma: Coolio foolio
04:48 (2983) Talon: Sweet. Chat log saved?
04:48 (2921) gerardpaloma: Alright, lemme save the chat log
