02:14 ** (496) Black Star arched a brow as Mentacles spoke. He had a fair amount of grudgin respect for Talon and they had worked together in the past but no one summoned him. Still, before he could offer any sort of retort Talon had seized the moment away from him. His eyes narrowed ever so slightly but he let it pass. Talon began to speak and he leaned slightly against a crate and listened. If he liked what he heard he might stick around. If not... **

She had no villainous aspirations either, other than taking what she wanted. She didn't know how she got pulled in with this motley group, but still. Here she is. **

What I realize now is that we need to BAND TOGETHER. Think of what we could accomplish working together! Who could stop us? SENTINEL? PAH! I say we make our own super team, one that looks out for us and us alone, and death to those who oppose us!"
02:17 ** (489) Red Fox takes a moment to look at who else was listening to the self assigned leader of the group. A man in a toga, a robot, a not bad looking guy in black and the only other woman in the group. For no reason whatsoever she hated her already. **

02:17 ** (489) Red Fox looks at her watch, boredom clearly etched in her eyes. **

02:18 ** (423) Mentacles resists the urge to shout 'with me as your philosopher king' he realized it would be inappropriate. He would bend them to his will in good time..."I am with you!" **
02:19 (389) Lareth: "Looks out for us.." The man certainly sounded intresting, and if his words were true, this would be exactly what she was hoping for. "I am in." she said, hopfully he would live up to his words.
02:20 (517) Talon: Talon's voice is filtered through a microphone in his suit and then rebroadcasted. It sounds dark, ominous, and probably not at all what his real voice sounds like.

02:20 ** (496) Black Star waited for a moment his eyes sliding over the other gathered guests. He was uncertain as to what he saw by and large. The robot immediately sided with Talon, he was not surprised. One of the women seemed to be interested as well. Hmm, that was surprising. He had not expected her to take the bait so easily. His eyes slid over Talon for a moment as he spoke. There was no passion in his voice, a sharp contrast to that of Mentacles. "I can understand the sentiment and I do acknowledge that your reasoning is sound Talon." His body language was neutral. He allowed Talon credit grudgingly. **

02:21 (517) Talon: "But?" Talon prompts.
02:22 (496) Black Star: "But I have a handful of terms that have to be worked out." He paused for a moment before he continued. "One, no one controls me. If I am with you and the others and I like what I hear, I will go along with my part in a mission. If I don't like what I hear, and if I don't feel in the mood to do a particular job, I won't do it. I maintain my autonomy to come and go as I please. You have my word that any information I hear through you and yous will be kept confidential, but I am equal partner in this nothing more and certainly nothing less."
02:22 (423) Mentacles: "Only those who are worthy shall be released from their shackles and escape the cave, to see the world as it truley is and not the shadows projected to them by their betters. These fools, these "heroes" try to interfere with the proper order of the unverse... They must be destroyed

02:23 (517) Talon: "I'm glad you brought that up, Black Star. I have brought you together, but I do not nominate myself as any kind of dictator. You are all free to come and go as you please. So long as our secrets are kept and we are not in a crisis, of course."
02:24 (496) Black Star: His eyes slid towards the one in the toga for a moment as he babbled about something. Was it Plato? Wonderful. He almost sighed but he suppressed the urge. He said nothing, while he did not know the capabilities of those around him very well he was very aware of what Talon could do...
02:25 (423) Mentacles: (dont worry, he is fucking nuts, but he will grow on you)
02:25 (517) Talon: "Well, if we're all in agreement, I think the first thing we need to figure is how best to work as a team and use our powers together. Some, well, one of you I am familiar with. The rest are unknown.
02:25 (517) Talon: "I'll go first. I wear this suit that provides me with offensive and defensive capabilities."
02:26 (517) Talon: The armor can stand up to a bazooka, and I also possess an energy shield.
02:26 (517) Talon: "I can fly at roughly one hundred ninety miles per hour with my jetsetter." Talon gestures to something that looks like a jet ski
02:27 (489) Red Fox: Just a boy with his expensive and destructive toys. (thinking only)
02:27 (517) Talon: A long stabbing blade springs forth from his wrist. "This is for up close and personal work." It retracts.
02:27 ** (496) Black Star smiled as Talon spoke. So, he was in the mood to be clever. He could go along with that. The others did not seem at all interested in making their stands as he had done. He was not uncertain if that was due to lack of desire or the fact that they saw no need. His eyes focused on talon for a moment as he spoke of familiarity with one of those gathered here. Oh yes, he was very familiar about what Talon was capable of. Talon remained as one of the few that had managed to bruise his pride. That would lingered just beneath the surface and like a trap door spider, slightest mistep might set it off. **
02:27 (517) Talon: "And my main weapon, the Particle Beam Cannon."
02:28 (517) Talon: A cannon built into the top side of his wrist begins to glow with a loud whine. Before it builds completely, he says "This is why I chose such an out of the way place to meet. Don't want a bunch of lookie-loo's to hear this."
02:29 (517) Talon: The cannon glows with white energy before being released in a tremendous pulse. It hits the support beams at the back of the abandoned warehouse, collapsing that section of the roof.

02:32 ** (496) Black Star listened attentively as Talon revealed a great deal of what he already knew. Oh, there had been changes he was sure. A handful of choice details that Talon had judiciously decided to leave out. He had his trump cards as did everyone else in the room and he did not expect that all secrets would be revealed. A part of him whispered that he should go next, but he was similar to talon in many ways. He could afford to wait. His head turned, eyes focusing on the robot as it spoke. The falling roof was less than nothing to him and not an immediate threat. he did not even twitch. It was careless however and that fact attracted a frown to his face. **
02:33 ** (389) Lareth looks at the falling roof out of the conrner of her eye and smiles slighty to herself. He was definitly not averse to heedless violence. That was good. **

02:34 ** (496) Black Star was aware of the unusual silence that descended upon the meeting when the robot ceased chattering. He hesitated for only a moment before sighing softly, the sound carrying the silence before he found himself speaking. **

02:34 (423) Mentacles: Mentacles waited for his apparant compatriot (read: Potential pawn) to finish speaking. "I am capable of moving directly into the realm of ideal forms and be safe from attack. While on this plane of existence I can manipulate the shadows of true reality that others see, and become invisible, and inaudible. I can also, in either plane of existence, bend the perceptions of others to my whims." the rather eccentric villian said.
02:34 ** (496) Black Star did not move a muscle as his lips parted and mentacles interrupted. He closed his mouth and settled to watching Mentacles closely. Very closely. **
02:35 (517) Talon: "So you're a mindfucker," Talon says.

02:35 (423) Mentacles: "Oh yes"
02:35 (517) Talon: "Okay, forgive me for this, but I'm sure you understand," he turns to F2K.

02:35 (517) Talon: "If I suddenly start acting very strangely, kill Mentacles."

02:38 ** (496) Black Star settled to watch the exchange between mentacles and talon with a fair amount of pleasure. Anything that was trouble for Talon without placing him at risk was a positive step in his mind most of the time. And yet he was consenting to working with him. The irony in that was difficult to overlook. Still, Mentacles revelation that he was a psychic was a problem. He had never dealt very effectively against those in the past. Ilyana's face danced in his memory. He nearly shivered... **
02:38 (423) Mentacles: "What happens if you get drunk or drugged?"
02:38 (489) Red Fox: You had better make yourself scarce.
02:38 (517) Talon: Talon nods at Red Fox and laughs.
02:38 (423) Mentacles: "That can be done easily" and the strange little man disappeared from sight and sound
02:39 (496) Black Star: "Any one else volunteering to share their life story?" He spoke frankly, another interruption and he just might find himself maiming someone.

02:39 (517) Talon: "My sensors see nothing." Impressive.

02:40 (423) Mentacles: he spoke, breaking the silence " I must confess, I am tempted to play with your mind, but in the interests of group conhesion, I will not do so"
02:40 (516) Foe-Matic 2000: F2K flails its arms about as its buttons light up.
02:40 ** (496) Black Star turned his head as his peripheral vision flickered. Where the toga wearing man had been nothing remained. He could not see anything nor hear it, but could he perhaps smell him? His senses were not boosted but he gave it a shot. His nostrils flaring slightly for a moment before his eyes slid from one woman to another. **

02:41 (489) Red Fox: (( how much does Talon weigh with the suit on? ))
02:41 (423) Mentacles: He reappeared shortly therafter
02:41 (516) Foe-Matic 2000: F2K seems to have gone completely berserk, spinning in a tight circle, flailing its arms and shouting "ERROR!" over and over as its eyes and mouth light up. Once Mentacles reappears, it stops.

There would be many times where she would have the chance to display that superiority. When she spoke of her apparent immortality he smiled. She would be surprised what she could live through. It seemed that only he and the other woman remained. His eyes sought hers wordlessly asking a simple question. Did she wish to speak about her potential or did she wish him to go before her? Her silence so far had spoken volumes. She did not seem a fool... **

There was a short whoosh sound followed directly by a pop as she disappeared from sight. In less than a blink of an eye she reappeared directly in front of Black Star. She easily intercepted the cigarette and casually blew the smoke into Black Star's face. With a sly grin she said, "Your turn, darling." **

02:56 ** (496) Black Star arched a brow as the woman flicked the cigarette in his direction. the cigarette left her lips and tumbled end on end several times. He did not even twitch, the cigarette could do nothing to him. His eyes did not focus on the cigarette at all, they focused on her. She was a rare beauty and he knew women. A millisecond later though something happened. He could not describe it adequately. She simply vanished. At first, he thought she was another intangible. When she appeared in front him he blinked. his eyes widening ever so slightly. His eyes remained fixed on her as she blew smoke into his face, the smell of it noticed along with something else. When she spoke he smiled, this time hints of pearly white teeth flashing. "impresive. **
02:57 (496) Black Star: He took a step and then another, moving past her and more adequately in the middle of them all as he spoke. "My name is Black Star. Talon and I are similar in several respects." He spoke softly and yet once more it seemed that it all revolved around Talon. It was not so much that he could not identify himself without Talon. It was simply that they were too damn alike for his taste.

02:59 (489) Red Fox: "Wait until our second date," she purred before turning to Talon. She stretched out a hand to the robot. It too disappeared with a pop, appearing a blink later halfway between the group and the destroyed end of the wharehouse. "Invisible is child's play."

He said nothing and yet his mannerisms changed, as if he would hold her to that promise. She disappeared once more and his eyes could not follow her. When she spoke her last words he smiled. He had a feeling he would like her.

03:02 (517) Talon: Talon sighs. "Come here."

03:02 (423) Mentacles: "Oh, and in the event that any one of us gets caught... I am sure I can have my liscence reinstated and can do wonders at trial"
03:03 (496) Black Star: "I can fly like talon but without any aids. I can also generate a suitable amount of energy and channel it towards a target." he did not give a demonstration of that for several reasons. "I am also endowed with a strong defenses against most types of attacks." His eyes slid towards Talon for a moment. He was about to say something else when the robot spoke, his eyes sliding from it towards the woman. His eyes seemed to twist slightly, their usual color shifting as blackness seemed to swallow the color hole. In the blink of an eye, instead of normal human eyes pupilless ebon orbs stared at the robot. A millisecond later, any action was premepted when Talon spoke.
03:03 ** (489) Red Fox makes a note of the immediate response from the robot. **

03:03 (517) Talon: Talon snorts. "A lawyer, huh?"

03:06 (496) Black Star: "It seems introductions are over Talon." He spoke flatly, his eyes sliding towards the robot and back as if wordlessly asking Talon to keep his pet on a tight leash. "What prey tell do you have in mind?" His neat little comment about replacing his equipment met with a thin smirk. He would rather not have to do so. He would prefer to keep the changes that had occured within him a surprise. He was no longer the same Black Star that Talon knew. Unfortuinately, he had a feeling that he was not the Talon he had known either...

Why? Do they have anything of worth there?" He frowned. He had been in SENTINEL for years for fucks sake! What did Talon think that Bill have in their headquarters keys to the bloody city? **
03:11 (517) Talon: "Because SENTINEL is a wrench in the works, that's fucking why! We take them out now and we won't have to worry about them ever again. Besides, that oaf Gilgamesh has my Particle Beam Rifle ratholed away somewhere."

03:13 (517) Talon: "Yeah, it's a real fucking playground. It's got swings and everything!" Talon snaps at Mentacles without really meaning to.

His facial expression became stone cold as he finished. "I am not your fucking servant Talon. I am not going to go on a merry goose chase to retrieve your personal property. Not when we could make enough money to buy you a fucking orbitting laser cannon in half the time." **

For a woman that had all but claimed that she was the mightiest among them...what did she have to fear? Or was it all a facade? He would have to think on that... **

She didn't fail to note how both Talon and Black Star had backed down. This team, if it was to be one, would take some time to come together. Had she not heard him at all? He paused for a second before he proceeded. "I was just telling Mantacles that we are all equal partners in this. I want to know what he as well as you can provide to this group at this juncture." Did she have any intelligence she could offer? Did she possess any information of note? no free loaders would be tolerated. A file from Sentinel's folders leaped at him in his mind. Could it be that unsolved file was finally going to be answered?

Plans are all well and good, but suppose we drill endlessly about how to deal with SENTINEL, and find ourselves face to face with some new group. It's better to be adaptive than to have a complex plan."

He knew that Talon was infamous and he himself was relatively well known. His leaving SENTINEL had all but guranteed that. He was uncertain about the woman that claimed she was immortal, and as for red fox...he had a hunch. That was all it was but he could wait. He had always enjoyed puzzles. A mere handful of seconds later, the woman was stating her name and throwing a card down on the ground. He did not need to kneel to get a good look at it. Son of a bitch...
