About Us
Find out all you need to know about the Tensided system and its creators, as well as information about the Tensided site, and how to contact us.
Tensided
Tensided is an original pen and paper game, created as an alternative to other RPG rulesets that you may be familiar with. Tensided is meant to be easy to learn and use by players and GMs alike, and is fully modular, meaning the rules can be applied to a variety of campaign settings with minimal changes to the core rules. Everything you need in order to play Tensided is available on this site.
FlyWheel Industries
FlyWheel Industries is a partnership, comprised of Justin Flynn and Heath Wheeler. They are the co-creators and co-webmasters of Tensided and the affiliated website. You may contact either of them with questions, comments, criticisms, or suggestions about the Tensided system or website, but ideally, system-related correspondence should be directed to Justin, and website-related correspondence should be directed to Heath.

Tensided.com Updates
This site has been on the internet since 2003. Over that span of time, whenever it was updated, there was an addition to a log of changes. This page chronicles all of the updates. |
A Brief History of Tensided
Tensided began as a simple modification to an existing commercially available set of pen and paper game rules. The simple modification became more complex and overarching, and went through a number of major changes over the span of 5 years before it no longer bore any resemblance to the original ruleset. During most of this period, the system went by the name of Blades and Barmaids. It was not until early 2004 that the Tensided moniker was applied. Ever since then, Tensided has continued to evolve, only getting better with time. Currently, the rules are not very user-friendly, and will be rewritten with a wide audience in mind.
A Brief History of Tensided.com
This site has existed on the internet, in one form or another, since the 5th of July, 2003. It was originally hosted on Angelfire. Unfortunately, when the site moved to its own domain, the home page on Angelfire was permanently changed to a redirect page. Here's what it looks like. The previous front page was overwritten, and not archived. Here's the Mods page from the Angelfire site, as an example of what the link structure looked like. It is interesting to note that even then, the idea for superhero rules was there, but it would be 2 years before they came to fruition. The Angelfire site is still located on the internet here.
The second incarnation of the site arose when it moved to the www.bladesandbarmaids.net domain on the 14th of July, 2003. As with the Angelfire incarnation, the front page was not archived. The only example of the way that site looked is this. That page never crossed over to the tensidedrpg.com domain. The link image for the Mods page is also missing. If you're interested in the text of the Gaming Moments page, get this document.
The site moved again to www.tensidedrpg.com on the 9th of June, 2004. The front page had been previously redesigned to look like this on the 6th of February, 2004, but did not move over to the new domain until the contract for bladesandbarmaids.net ended. This look was rather gaudy and very similar to the web template used in the redesign, including a major flaw: the link bar was unreadable if java was disabled or not working correctly.
On the 24th of March, 2005, the site was modified like this. While this look was aesthetically pleasing, it did not serve Tensided very well. It was difficult to add content, and suffered from the same flaw the other versions of the site did: the front page offered no information about the site's purpose or contents.
The current design, as of the 27th of November, 2005, solves those problems, and is clean, user friendly, and informative. That's not to say the design won't change again in the future, but this version of Tensided.com is by far the best yet.
In early 2007, the www.tensided.com domain was acquired, and since then, the site has existed in its entirety on both Tensided.com and TensidedRPG.com.
